Father, visibly irritated, turned to mother and accused, "What nonsense are you spouting? You've lost Husnah due to your negligence?" Mother departed in tears, grasping the full extent of the situation. She had driven Yaseer away from Husnah's affection and instilled in him a love for her own daughter. She was on the verge of intervening between him and father… but then she retreated to her room, shut the door, and wept bitterly.</p>

<p>Two days later, Husnah served food and collapsed. Unseen by her, he stood before her. Alone in Anya's house, she wondered if this was truly her happiness. He vanished into the forest seeking advice from a friend.</p>
